The more you master your products and protocols, the more you create an experience of trust, and that is what builds loyalty. Enjoy reading, and enjoy the treatment. 🌿 BEFORE YOU START: THE PRE-TREATMENT STEP The pre-treatment is just as important as the treatment itself: it is your strategy, your action plan. 1. The welcome Offer something to drink (herbal tea, water) Invite them to go to the bathroom before starting Show how to put on the robe, take off jewelry Never forget the smile 2. The Shakti consultation file A 3-page document to fill out with the client (or have them fill out in advance at reception). It includes: Health assessment Concerns Current cosmetic routine Expectations Signature Always review the file with the client to highlight good/bad habits and what could have an impact on their skin. 3. The health assessment: What we are looking to know Health problems that may affect the skin Medication (possible contraindications) Followed by a dermatologist Recent aesthetic or medical treatments (e.g.: wait 6 weeks after certain treatments) Allergies → consult the list of ingredients in Latin in the binder Pregnancy Environment and work (dust, sun, plane, stress…) 4. The client's concerns Give the mirror to the client so they can identify what really bothers them: Brown spots, wrinkles, fine lines, loss of firmness Redness, sensitive skin, reactivity (e.g.: glass of wine = reaction) Dull complexion, tired look Blackheads, pimples, microcysts, milia Dehydration, tightness Irritation, itching Eye contour (bags, dark circles, wrinkles) Enlarged pores, couperose, uneven skin texture Problems on the back, neck, décolletage 💡 Pro tip: If you observe something outside your scope of practice, refer to a dermatologist or family doctor, without creating fear, just with professional curiosity. 5. The current cosmetic routine Questions to ask: Do they wash their face? Morning, evening, both? With what? What texture? (no need to know the brand — texture is what matters) How does their skin feel after cleansing? (dry, comfortable, tight?) What do they apply next? Do they do occasional treatments? (masks, exfoliants, courses) Do they wear makeup? Use an eye contour? ⚠️ No judgment. We are here to welcome, inform, and guide. 6. Expectations What the client is looking for guides the entire treatment: Correct / improve → orientation towards corrective treatments, a targeted course Relax → incorporate hot stones, rose quartz, synergies, body elixir Be advised → explain each step and active ingredient during the treatment (2 actions per product) Be guided → offer a treatment program with appointments scheduled in advance 💡 To remember: The aesthetician's work represents about 25% of the results. The remaining 75% depends on the home routine (50%) and lifestyle (25%: diet, sleep, tobacco, sun, stress). 7. The skin examination Two versions available in the technical notebook: Short version: date, treatment performed, products recommended, samples given, purchases, next appointment Detailed version (3 pages): check each problem, note the location, follow the evolution Do a first examination before cleansing (to choose the right products), then a second after to confirm. 8. Your concerns as a professional Where to start? What is the priority? How often should they receive a treatment? What maintenance routine to recommend? What results can they expect? 💬 Example: a client who talks about pigment spots but has never tanned → start by exfoliating and hydrating before any targeted treatment. Explain that it is a step-by-step process. BASIC TREATMENTS BY SKIN TYPE The basic treatment chart is in your technical notebook AND on Teams (aesthetician → public documents → treatment protocols).
